Ginger (Zingiber officinale), a member of the Zingiberaceae
family, is a well-known spice used in
the daily diet in many Asian countries.
Ginger extracts have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and
anti-cancer effects
Ginger root is well known as a remedy

- Diabetic nephropathy: A study done on diabetic rats found
that those rats given ginger had a reduced incidence of diabetic nephropathy.
