Restoration is the process of restoring one or more valued processes or attributes
of a landscape.
The definition presented by the Society for
Ecological Restoration International (SER International; SER 2002), and adopted
by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), which is as
follows: Ecological restoration is the process of assisting the recovery of an
ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged or destroyed.
